A Night (or More) at the Museum PDF Print E-mail

Wow.  I'm honored.  No, really.

I've earned my place in history and didn't know it: apparently Megami Fonts are currently on display at the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach, Germany.  The Klingspor is a museum devoted to modern (20th c. and beyond) typography and fonts.  It hosts the work of many of the greats and those who are not so great, and now I can call myself blessed to stand amongst giants.

Klingspor-Museum

Admittedly, it doesn't cover all of my fonts (it's a little outdated as of this writing), and doesn't show all of them in the greatest light, but it's still an accomplishment.  I certainly hope that if they make a specimen book, some of Megami's work will be included.

In any case, my entry on the online version of the site can be found here.

It's funny.  The parent corporation is the least busiest part of the overall business, but that'll be changing soon.  Yes, that's a familiar tone around these parts, but for those of you (both of you) who are watching, there are things afoot:

  • Megami Studios fonts have been selling briskly on MyFonts, and soon, it'll have its own domain here.
  • Our business section, Incstone Design, has also been doing well and is currently the most productive part of the company.
  • We may be shuttering the Atelier, as things have changed on that front.
  • We may be introducing a custom greetings card brand towards the end of the year.
  • And of course, the main reason everything is here: we're hoping to have Claude & Monet finally launched by year's end.

There will also be some changes on other fronts, as well.  We're looking to make a move soon.  While we'll still be in the DC area, this move will allow us to make much greater changes and give us more flexibility in working on our projects.

So, here's hoping for more...and a more recent update.  ^_^;;;

(yes, we're painfully aware of how bad that sounds).

Anyway, we're proud to announce that Megami Studios fonts are now available for purchase at MyFonts!  This is a big leap for us and we're looking forward to a long and fun relationship making the folks in Cambridge, MA (where MF is located) wondering why they ever signed a contract with us.

Anyway, our first purchase font, Shibuya Dancefloor, should be on the site soon, followed by others.  Feel free and take a look and we hope you like what you see!

Once in a while, you'll see something that will really take away your breath. I saw that tonight in the form of a pop-up book called ABC3D by Marion Bataille. To most people, pop-up books are simple childrens' affairs, something to keep the kiddies entertained with. This one is simple, but it's not just for kids:

It says something when I go out and purchase a book just to gaze at it over and over again.  Everyone keep heed of this one, as it is a work of art on the typographical, design, and entertainment fields.

Hello, and welcome to the new-and-improved Megami site!  We're still doing some work here, but as you can see, things are much changed from the previous arrangement.

Some of the changes here now:

  • We've opened our professional services site, Incstone Design.  We'll be providing logo and stationary design services, as well as possibly web design as well!
  • Megami Fonts is now available as well.  We offer both free and pay fonts and hope in the future to provide fellow services to other artists, too!
  • The Atelier is currently on hiatus while we find a new home for it.  Once that's done, we'll likely bring it up as soon as possible!

There's also going to be a lot more changes in the next few months, but I'll let those come out as they do.  Several of them will be definitely a change from what we've been doing here now.

Thanks for sticking around and watching.
